Ruby Hammer MBE is celebrating her 5th anniversary for her beauty brand Ruby Hammer Beauty and I was very honoured last week to be invited to join her for a special celebration at the stunning The Dover Restaurant (more of which later) to raise a glass and nibble on some delicious divine canapés whilst getting to play with the product range.

Now, if like me you remember Ruby from her television days of the show 10 Years Younger then you’ll know that she has a real down to earth warmth about her and loves to celebrate natural beauty, enhanced by a few clever tips, and a few fabulous products. You might also remember her collaborative brand, Ruby & Millie, with Beauty OG Millie Kendall OBE which I would snap up as a late teen in Boots, spending what was left of my modest retail salary. It was utterly of its time with its clear packaging and minimalist approach.

Ruby is a celebrated make up artist who has worked on countless fashion shows, shoots and some of the most recognised faces in the industry, yes I’m talking about Naomi & Kate, so if anyone knows what they are talking about then it’s her!

The product range is a refreshingly small edit, with the focus on enhancing what you already have rather than creating a “new face” and as well as colour products also includes tools to help you achieve fantastic results.

This is the second time I have met Ruby and she is as lovely in real life as she appears online. She is a woman who really believes in championing other women and the power we have when we all work together. As such the room was filled with other incredible women, from makeup artists to media personalities to work colleagues over the years and was such an inspiring couple of hours to be around such successful females.

So what are the products I think you’ll be coveting? Here’s what’s my top 5…

Firstly I adore the fact this brush comes in a super chic ruby red velvet pouch, which combined with its petite size makes it the perfect for handbags. The soft bristles are perfect to blush, bronze or highlight.

As we head into these colder months it’s easy to forget about our feet as they are stuffed away in thick socks and winter boots. This foot file is on another level, made from glass & crystal this sleek tool is also totally sustainable, just rinse after use.

Ultra nourishing and available in 5 shades as well as clear, these balms look as good as they feel, my personal fav is the shade pink which is a lovely almost coral shade and perfect for keeping my lips moisturised in the winter months with a high colour pigment.

Now, hands up here, I’ve not tried this product yet BUT my God do I want to! For a start that wand, soo teeny has me intrigued as I love a natural lash look. Coupled with the brow gel its a great saving duo to boot.
5. Precision Liquid Eyeliner £19

As someone who is a terrible eyeliner applier I am delighted to add this to my repertoire because it is so easy to use and stays put! Suitable for novices like myself.
So what’s on your list? Let me know in the comments below…
Finally, thank you so much to Ruby and her team who were so welcoming and a final shout out to The Dover Resturant for their hospitality. I loved the interiors, the food, the vibe! It was all just gorgeous and I’ll be heading back before the year is out for a fabulous sexy night out under their candle lit restaurant.
